Tank Game is a top-down puzzle game where you play as a tank turned sentient, and your goal is to escape the facility you are trapped within. You must complete a series of puzzles to unlock keycards in order to rescue your tank friends and then escape.
This project was created for the Mechanics Prototyping module at university. The brief for this module was to create a top-down game in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints, focusing on rapidly prototyping a variety of mechanics. I was supplied with a slim framework to build upon for this project, which includes the tank model, the top-down camera, player health, checkpoints and various models to kitbash together.
Created unique enemy AI behaviours (following, aiming, patrolling, random fire - and combinations between these behaviours)
Created unique traps as an added challenge to the gameplay (land mines, turrets, damaging acid puddles)
Made quest progress pop-ups to help guide the player
Designed a functional settings menu, giving the player control over graphics
Designed the level with verticality and space in-mind, giving the level an interesting and expansive feel
