Handle With Care is a chaotic first-person house moving simulator wherein the player is a house mover, and their goal is to move all boxes into their client's house successfully (keyword: successfully) by the end of the workday. The player must match the right coloured boxes into the right coloured rooms, all while avoiding dropping fragile boxes.
This project was created for my university's Fundamentals of Games Development module. The brief was to create a vertical slice using Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints.
Built an extendible player interaction system, using a Blueprint interface
Designed responsive gameplay with players in-mind, with floating UI prompts used to indicate whether an object is interactable, and Niagara particle systems used to demonstrate whether a box has been placed in the correct room
Created a money and time system, which work independently, using event dispatchers - avoiding hard dependencies
Utilised audio to enhance immersion, with background music, UI interaction sounds and footstep sounds depending on floor material
